CEO Mandy Zilla Panchayat, Kr Nandini, ordered officials of the medical and family social departments to submit a proposal to establish a breast milk bank in Mandya to reduce infants’ mortality.
Mrs. Nandini, who spoke at a meeting for progress in the National Health Program for Children in Mandya, said infant mortality could be reduced by securing the safely collected breast milk from donor mothers to children who have no access to milk.
Mrs. Nandini ordered Mrs. Nandini to order a team that was modeled on the line in a Bengalur Bengalur Hospital in Mandya, modeled on the Victoria Hospital in Bengalur.
Mrs. Nandini stressed that every child had the right to live, stated that it was the responsibility of the health department to ensure that there were no deaths in the district.
When issuing instructions to officials and employees of the medical department to take all preventive measures to prevent infant mortality, Mrs. Nandini said that quality health care must start from the pregnancy phase, prefer safe supplies, availability of neonatal care and emergency treatment.
Over the first six months, she also designed exclusive breastfeeding, in addition to focusing on hygiene, intake of nutritional food, immunization and creating awareness of infants between parents.
She urged officials to identify a pregnancy that pose serious risks to the mother and the child and treat them separately from low -character pregnancies, and stated that the necessary measures need to be taken to prevent loss of life.
Mrs. Nandini, who pointed out that identification of health problems in children at the beginning of the National Children’s Health Program and the provision of proper and timely treatment could significantly reduce infant mortality, not only ordered information about possible improvements, but also take steps against those who manifest negligence in the system.
Menstrual cups
Regarding the division of menstrual cups to girls studying in SSLC in government and government schools throughout the district, Mrs. Nandini said that ASHA staff must take responsibility for monitoring them and ensuring the correct use of these menstrual cups.
She also said that ASHA staff must be compulsorily registered under Pradhan Mantri Surraksha Bim Yojan and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bim Yojan.
Meanwhile, she ordered medical officers at the level of taluk to take preventive measures against mixing of waste water with drinking water. Tests to determine the quality of drinking water must be performed regularly and the results should be shared with the appropriate gram of Panchayats, she said.
