On Monday, the Munnar police performed a tour of the waste treatment plant owned by Munnar Panchayat in Kallar, Idukki based on the accusation that Panchayat spent there and buried 200 stray dogs.
Recently MM Keerthidas and MB Oman, activists for animal care in Thodupuzha, submitted petition to the main minister and Munnar’s police and claimed that the Munnar Panchayat authorities captured 200 stray dogs and buried them in an abandoned well in the therapeutic plant. The complaint also said that dogs were captured on July 24 and 25 and transported to Panchayat vehicles. Based on the complaint of Munnar, the Munnar registered the case against the Panchayat offices.
Based on the complaint, the police made Munnar a detailed search for waste treatment plants with the help of the ground and gained only carcass bodies of four dogs.
Vice President Munnar Panchayat Marsh Peter denied the accused and said that Panchayat did not kill stray dogs. “The carcasses are obtained are dogs that were recently killed after being hit by a vehicle in Munnar. Last week, Panchayat caught several dogs to be vaccinated. “Panchayat has never ordered anyone to kill or bury dogs,” Mr. Peter said.
‘A high -level probe’
