Meanwhile, AP Ministers Anil Kumar and T. Siddique on Wednesday (July 8, 2026) directed officials to intensify relief and disaster management measures following the tragedy that claimed three lives while five others remain missing.
The ministers have directed the finance department and Meppadi grama panchayat to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to people stranded in Chooralmala, Mundakkai and Puthumala following the Kalladi landslide.
Residents of Erattukund, Kuppachi, Punchirimattam, Thanjilodu, Thazhe Aranamala and Ayyappan Unnathi have been asked to evacuate to safer places as a precautionary measure.

The Ministers asked the District Medical Officer to immediately set up a health sub-centre equipped with a doctor, nurse, medicines and other necessary facilities to provide health services to the isolated families in Chooralmala.
They also ordered strict regulation of entry into relief camps to protect the privacy of evacuees. While access to the zone affected by the debris slide will remain restricted, locals traveling from Meppadi to Chooralmala will be able to pass through without any inconvenience.
The district administration will prepare a list of residents living in vulnerable areas and hill settlements in Meppadi grama panchayat who may require evacuation. If the situation warrants, additional relief camps will be opened and more people will be moved to safer places, officials said.
