The police identified about 900 vulnerable places that are dangerous to women in the state, said Harish Kumar Gupta. The abilities are undertaken to improve electrification, install CCTV and maintenance of vigiles in these places to check the crime against women, he added.
The courts were convicted of up to 169 accused in cases concerning the crime against women and children in the last ten months. The defendants were involved in rape, rape of gangs, protection of children from sexual offenses (POŠO), 2012 and other cases, DGP said.
In order to control and monitor the investigation in cases of crime against women, the government represented the “wing of the security of women and children”. Police Inspector B. Raja Kumari will be at the forefront of the wing, DGP presented in a press release on Monday.
“About 1.52 Lakhs downloaded” SAKTHI App “in their mobile phones. The application is available in English and Hindi languages. The police received 11.60 Lakh SOS calls from which 3,193 cases were registered,” said Mr. Harish Kumar Gupta.
A total of 164 SAKTHI teams were created in the state, which performed over 12,000 programs for awareness at bus and railway stations and other public places. The police identified 254 conventional eve and the instructions were provided to monitor their movements, DGP said.
Police perform programs on the use of “SAKTHI App”, which monitors cases of missing persons, safe travel, family disputes and other questions, he said.
