“The least we could do for India”
The Jain Lotus Group, based in Ahmedabad with more than 1,000 pairs, planned a trip to Turkey to Diwali by the middle of the day.
“We canceled the trip. About 800 people from our Jain Lotus group were supposed to go to Turkey after Diwali. We planned a tour of 12 days and 11 nights. We decided to go to four places in Turkey, including Cappadokie and Istanbul.”
“All members planned to get to Turkey in groups of 80 people every third day, not the same day,” Shah explained.
“However, with regard to the current situation between India and Pakistan, the main committee, including our president and the common secretary, took individual views of all and the committee decided that we were not going to Turkey on a tour, a country that supports the enemy of our country, Pakistan.”
Shah said, “We could at least do for India. We can’t go to war as an army, but we can do it a lot to support the country, right?” said.
