
Most of the owners of vehicles in Delhi (79 %) are, according to a new survey published on July 3, against the rule “fuel for old vehicles”.
In the LocalciCles survey, people were asked whether to support the new government rule of Delhi, that gasoline pumps could not sell fuel of ten -year diesel and 15 -year -old gasoline vehicles (including two rounds).
Of the 16 907, who answered this question, 79 % stated “no” and the remaining 21 percent reported “yes”.
Basically, 79 % of vehicles in Delhi, which is about 8 out of 10 people responded, against the rule of “fuel for old vehicles”.
From 1 July, all vehicles at the end of life (EOL) -Diesel vehicles over 10 years of age and gasoline vehicles over 15 years of age-in-respect for the state in which they are registered cannot be driven in Delhi in Delhi.
The Supreme Court’s decision in 2018 banned diesel vehicles over 10 years of age and gasoline vehicles over 15 years in Delhi. The 2014 National Green Tribunal command also prohibits parking vehicles aged over 15 years in public areas.
The aim of politics is to reduce vehicles in Delhi, its sudden and rigid enforcement led to panic, protests and logistics tension, the survey found. The Localcircles survey received more than 33,000 answers from the population of 11 districts in Delhi. 67 % of respondents were men, while 33 % of respondents were women.
The Dilli government issued standard operating procedures (SOP) on June, ordering all gasoline pumps must maintain a protocol, whether manual or digital, from all rejected fuel transactions including such vehicles.
87% of two -wheel owners angry
The survey also found that 44 % of four -wheeled vehicle owners, up to 87 % of two -wheel owners, are upset by the new fuel rule and seizing old vehicles. The findings are based on a comparison of car owners’ survey in June 2025 and survey of owners of all vehicles in July 2025.
Among the 62 lakh vehicles that qualify as old Delhi vehicles are 70 percent of two rounds.
Minister wants to detain politics for now
In the middle of the growing resistance on social media above the “No Fuel for Old Vohing” rule, the Minister of the Environment Manjinder Singh Sirsa wrote an air quality management commission to suspend it for the time being.
