79,891 seats allotted in EAPCET 2026 first phase

After tweaking the web options following the mock allotment that ended on July 7, the Commissioner of Technical Education released the final allotment of seats under the first phase of TG EAPCET 2026 counseling on Friday.

A total of 79,891 seats (90.7%) were filled in 176 institutions, including 152 private technical colleges. Out of the total 88,053 seats, 8,162 seats remained vacant after the exercise.

The difference in mock assignment and final assignment recorded differences in college and major change in 35,402 cases. And though 8,691 candidates exercised the option, they failed to get the allotment. Within the economically weaker section quota, 6335 candidates secured seats. It has been reported that 87 colleges, 8 universities and 79 private colleges have registered 100% admissions.

According to course allocations, the core branches recorded 100% allocation. A maximum of 27,990 seats were filled for Computer Science and Engineering, followed by Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (13,732) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (10,593)). 100% allocation was in 22 courses.

The numbers, seat allocation was 54.8% or 43,784 for male candidates and 45.2% or 36,107 for female candidates. The category of candidates in the allotment were BC-B (16,723), Open Category (16,053), BC-D (14,305), ST (8,012), SC-II (7,778) and others.
