Around 785 students were awarded various postgraduate (PG) degrees at the 51st convocation of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) on Friday.
This year, a total of nine students won gold medals, and a doctoral student received an award for outstanding research results.
Mayur Dattatray Khule won the Gold Medal for Best All-round Performance for Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) and Post Graduate Program in Business Analytics 2024-2026 combined.
In PGP 2024-2026, Manasi Anju Mertia got the first position while Dhvit Jayen Mehta has the second position.
In the Executive Postgraduate Program in Management 2025-2026, PP Aysha Shaba secured the first position and Rajasilpi SP won the Best All-rounder award.
In the Post Graduate Program in Business Management 2024-2026, Lakshmi R secured the first position while Biswaranjan Mishra bagged the Best All-rounder award.
In the Post Graduate Program in Public Policy and Management, Anirudh won the Gold Medal for Best Academic Performance. Institute Research Award 2026 was won by Divya Dwivedi.
In her speech, Vibha Padalkar, Executive Director and CEO of HDFC Life said, “Institutions and careers are not built in sprints, but through the process of evolution of a long-distance race with bursts of energy, ambition, confidence and courage.” She said leadership is about integrating multiple lenses. Ms. Padalkar also emphasized the importance of precision, persuasiveness, confidence built over the years and slowing down to speed up in order to have a sustainable career.
She further advised students that the ability to anticipate, the discipline to pause, and the wisdom to choose deliberately will serve them well in the long run. “IIM-B has honed your decision-making skills. So as you enter a new phase of your life, remember to run fast when it counts, slow down when it counts and stay in the long race,” she added.
