The Cyberabad Anti-Human Traffick Unit (AHTU) arrested five accused and rescued three victims during a week-long special drive held between October 26 and 31.
The squad also nabbed nine transgenders in night raids conducted as part of operations under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA).
Simultaneously, Cyberabad She Teams conducted 142 baiting operations and arrested 76 individuals for indulging in indecent acts in public places.
Minor cases were registered in 51 cases, counseling was provided to the remaining offenders. She teams also received 17 complaints from women victims through various channels during the week.
Meanwhile, efforts to resolve family disputes have led to the reunion of 29 couples through the Family Counseling Centers and the Center for Development and Empowerment of Women (CDEW) under the Women and Child Safety Wing.
As part of prevention and awareness initiatives, both AHTU and She Teams organized programs at several locations in Cyberabad, reaching approximately 223 participants.
The session focused on issues such as human and child trafficking, teasing, social media harassment, child marriage, child labour, stalking, begging, cyberbullying and online fraud. Awareness of emergency numbers and helplines including women’s helpline 181, children’s helpline 1098 and cybercrime helpline 1930 has also increased.
