A total of 75,487 pending cases of traffic e-challans were cleared across Karnataka on Sunday and Monday under the recently announced 50% penalty scheme by the state.

According to a press release issued by the Bengal Traffic Police, ₹2.24 crore was collected over the two-day period through various prescribed payment methods.

The concession was granted through a government order dated June 4, which provides for a 50% reduction in fines for pending cases of traffic e-challans registered by the police department. The program went into effect on June 21.
