The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of Mustafabad constituency on Friday (November 7, 2026) filed a police complaint seeking an FIR under Section 31 of the RP Act against BLA following a report by The Hindu that fake Form 7s were filed to wipe out voters living at their addresses.

North Eastern District Election Officer (DEO) Ajay Kumar told The Hindu that the election officials independently verified the reports and found that 36 out of 37 Form 7s were fake/fabricated. “In connection with the reports appearing in the press and on social media regarding the fake and fabricated Form 7, the ERO today filed a police complaint for registration of FIR under Section 31 of the RP 1950 against the BLA,” a press release from his office also said.

The Hindu reported on October 30 that 28 Form 7s were filed in constituency 129 of Mustafabad constituency seeking deletion of voters living in the area, a BLA registered under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chandra Shekhar Nainwal, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI), rejected these requests and denied any association till October. BJP, mluvící s The Hindu, bylo podáno devět nových žádostí, které jej jmenovaly jako odpůrce ve dnech 29. až 30. října. Důvody uvedené v těchto žádostech byly „nepřítomné/trvale posunuté“ a „mrtvé“.

She further said that all the 37 forms were examined by the BLO/AERO which found that three voters who were claimed to be dead were found alive at their addresses. Všichni ostatní byli také nalezeni bydlet na jejich adresách, jak uvádí The Hindu.

“Only one case was found to be true while 36 cases were found to be false/fabricated. As the BLA/Objector knowingly made a false statement or statement in Form 7, action under Section 31 of the RP Act was invoked for false statement/written statement in connection with the preparation/revision of electoral roll,” the report said.

He said that verification and investigation is underway on other Form 7 applications. According to an analysis by The Hindu, more than 77% of the total 1,021 Form 7s received till November 3 list 20 BJP BLAs as objections. Všichni jsou proti muslimským voličům a několik bylo zjištěno, že bydlí na jejich adresách v různých oblastech.
