The team, headed by the director of the Ministry of Health and the Services of Social Care for Family, was established after a sudden exhaust at the deaths of mothers (5 deaths) in Ballari in November 2024.

There was a significant number of deaths between the time of birth within 42 days after birth (380 IE 82%).
The report noted that the death could be prevented if the right decisions were made at the right time regarding the medical plans adopted at the level of risk factors such as anemia, hypertensive disorders, gestational diabetes, and such conditions that develop during pregnancy.

A better level of readiness in medical facilities, which included ensuring the availability of the necessary blood in the blood bank, drugs and consumables, the standard of the cervical balloon, the SR cannula, the non-pneumatic anti-shocked clothing (NASG), etc. It could also prevent death.
He was dealt with in the report, Mr. Rao said: “Our goal is to reduce 70% of the deaths that can be preceded, to 0, as to ensure that they are prevented. Although we cannot control every aspect if we provide our services and the quality of care that are in our control right, then there will be no such death.”
With 530 mothers’ deaths, the mortality rate of mothers (MRD) in Karnataka is 57 per 2024-25. The Minister said the government aims to reduce the number to 19 (and MMR MMR) in the next two years.
