At the age of 70, she resisted gravity and convention, Leela Jose, a farmer from Kifthady, a sleepy village in Idukki, jumped out of an aircraft rising 13,000 feet above the ground in Dubai.
Her stunning skydiver is a story of courage, adventure and inspiration. It was a dream that raised years that became a reality when she recently visited her son in Dubai. There, Lela had a jump for her life with excitement, curiosity and just a hint of fear.
“When I watched videos of skydiving on TV, I always wanted to do it. I shared my wishes with some friends and relatives, but they ridiculed it. Then I didn’t mention anyone, but it always persisted,” says Leela.
She recently visited her son, Balu, and the sister -in -law Lint in Dubai, who paved the way to fulfill her ambition. “Skydiving came during the conversation. When I asked, my son wanted to know if I wanted to do it, and I said yes,” he says. “I said I would do it if there was an opportunity. My sister -in -law was also in full support,” Lela recalls with a smile.
“Balu immediately called the tourism adventure and approved my request within three hours. The next morning my son and I arrived with my son. I, together with four young people and the team started for 15 -digit years to go. It was a great experience.
“Life in Idukki inspired my adventure spirit,” he says. “I took part in the event without any practice. I watched many videos, but I had no idea how to do it.”
Leel’s dreams don’t end here. He is even ready to travel to space if he gets the opportunity. “My other ambition is to participate in diving,” he says, continuing to dream.
