On Saturday, Madhya Pradesh suspended seven public work department engineers (PWD) and launched a probe against a retirement supervisor over the “defective design” of the new railway bridge (ROB) in Bhopal with an unusual 90 -degree move.
Main Minister Mohan Yadav announced that he had realized serious negligence in the construction of Aishbagh Rob and ordered the investigation.
“On the basis of the investigation report, measures against eight PWD engineers were taken,” Yadav said.
Error in Most
The newly built Rob in the Aishbagag region in the city is criticized and ridiculed by the locals and Netizens for its design and wondering how the vehicles would be sharply 90 degrees.

Lack of land caused defective design

If a little extra soil is available, 90 degree sharp turnover can be converted to a curve, the officials said.
Seven engineers, including two main engineers, were immediately suspended, while the investigation of the ministry would be carried out against a pensioner of a superintendent engineer, he said.
Suspension engineers include:
- Sanjay Khande and GP Verma (main engineer)
- JAVED Shakeel and Shabana Rajjaq (Mandatory Executive Engineer)
- Ravi Shukla (Infrierry Officer)
- Umashankar Misra (sub-engineer)
- Shanul Saxena (auxiliary engineer)
In addition, the Ministry’s investigation against Superintendent Singh’s retirement deputy will be carried out in retirement, another main secretary Neeraj Mandloi said.
Construction and design companies on blacklist
In addition to the direct action against the PWD staff, the government also included a construction agency and design consultant.
Another committee was created to resolve the situation, which made the necessary improvements in the railway bridge (ROB), said Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in post on X.
“Rob will be inaugurated only after the improvement,” added the main minister.
