Ukraine launched “Spider’s Web Operation” and made intense strikes deep inside the Russian border on Sunday. A massive drone attack was made against Russian military foundations
According to the Kiev independent Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), it said that drones from 1 June caused damage to approximately $ 7 billion and banned 34 percent of cruise rocket carriers in key Russian air backs.
A swarm of the Ukrainian drones allegedly attacked a number of military aerial foundations deep inside the Russian border and left more than 40 bomber aircraft in flames, Ukrainian officials said.
Sources in the Ukrainian Security Service told Bloomberg that more than 40 Russian aircraft, including the Tu-95 and Tu-22 M3 bombers who are able to deploy conventional and nuclear weapons, as well as the A-50, were damaged on Sunday.
The Tu-95 is an aircraft of the Soviet era that it made its first flight in 1952. Originally it is used to transport nuclear bombs, but since then has evolved to start excursion missiles, Kiev informed Independent.
Russia confirms the attack
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed in a telegram statement that attacks occurred in five military airbases across the country from the Far East and Eastern Siberia to places just a few hundred miles from Moscow.
However, the authorities claimed that only “several aircraft units” were damaged on two military foundations in the regions of Murmansk and Irkutsk.
Reacts
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelsky described this operation as “absolutely great result” and stated that the events of the Ukrainians “will undoubtedly in historical books”. According to the BBC, he said that the planning of the operation began 18 months ago and those who participated were “withdrawn from Russian territory in time”.
Spider’s Web Operation
The Ukrainian source SBU told Moscow Times that the “spider’s spider” was ready for more than a year and a half. The Ukrainian source of security said the drones were smuggled to Russia and hidden in wooden structures installed on trucks.
“The drones were released remotely from wooden mobile homes that were transported on trucks in Russian territory,” the official told Bloomberg.
The roofs of the structures were then remotely opened to let the drones fly towards their destinations. Shared SBU photos show numerous small black drones hidden in what seems to be transportable containers.
Russian-Ukraine is talking
The incidents occurred as much as Russia and Ukraine are preparing for Monday on Monday for the second round of peace interviews in Turkey.
The opening round of May 16 – the first in more than three years – ended with an agreement on the exchange of prisoners and discussions on a potential ceasefire.
