The Ministry of the Interior (MHA) approved recruitment of 58,000 other employees for central industrial security forces (CISF) and predicted future industrial nodes in areas now affected by the extremism of the left wing (LWE).
Interior Minister AMIT Shah set the deadline of March 2026 to end the security forces in Chhattisgarh, one of the worst states affected by LWE.
The geographical spread of LWE violence has decreased significantly in the last decade. The number of districts affected by LWE violence in 2013 was 126 in ten countries that dropped to 38 districts in 2024.
Increased employment ceiling
July 22, MHA wrote that he would inform the CEO of CISF RS Bhatti that the Indian President sanctioned strengthening the permitted force of the ceiling of strength, from 2 lakh to 2.2 lakh. Since the current power of the CISF is 1.62 lakh, the decision could lead to recruitment of approximately 58,000 people.
CISF official said that in the next five years approximately 14,000 employees will be accepted each year. The official stated that new additions would be useful in the deployment of CISF across critical sectors such as aviation, sea ports, thermal power plants, nuclear installations, hydroelectric power plants and jail in Jammu and Kashmir.
“It is expected that new industrial nodes are expected to decline in left -wing extremism in states like Chhattisgarh, requires a stronger presence of CISF to provide comprehensive and effective safety to these units,” the official said.
CISF hired 13,230 employees in 2024 and during the current year the next 24 098 is recruited.
Hike in security security requirements
After the Sindoor operation, there were an increase in the requirements of several organizations, including the public sector (PSU) and private institutions, for CISF security.
“Approximately 35 applications are in the process and requests from approximately 100 installations. We hope to provide more real estate security after recruiting,” the clerk said.
Last year, CISF was deployed in seven new places: Parliament complex, Ayodhya airport, National Thermal Power Corporation in Hazaribagh, Indian Council of Medical Research Institute in Pune, Buxar Thermal Power Project in Etah; and the Beas SATUJ Link project in Mandi.
CISF was established in 1969 to provide integrated safety coverage with a certain sensitive dog with a force of only three battalions or around 3,000 employees. Currently, CISF provides safety coverage with 359 devices.
