Ramakanth Joshi, 89, was the son of the founder of Manohara Granthamala and writer GB Joshi (Jada Bharat) and led the publishing house as an editor after GB Joshi in 1993.
After his postgraduate and doctoral studies in English literature, prof. Joshi as an English teacher at Kittel College in Dharwad and then led the department until retirement.
Joshi, who led Manohara Granthamal for more than three decades, has received several awards, including the unique Publisher Prize by Indian Publishers Union, New Delhi; Best Publishing Award from Kannada Pustaka Pradhikar; Best Publishing House Award from Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Others.
In 2022 he was appointed as Sarvadhyaksha district of Dharwad Kannada Sahitya Sammelan.
The mortal remains will be kept in his residence for MangalwarePet in Dharwad from 9:00 to 10:00 on Sunday 18 May to pay the public to pay her last respect, the family members said.
