The police on Friday booked 55 history records and tied them up in Sri Sathya Sai district in view of their behavior last month and secured bonds of ₹5,000 each.
Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar told the media that the police had been counseling four youths from Kadiri town, among the rioters, and had remanded them for a year on charges of provoking a personal matter into a group clash.
The accused were identified as Shaik Nawaz, Shaik Ghouse Basha, Mohammed Maj and Shaik Faizan. The SP said those on bond would face serious consequences if they resorted to committing offences, including forfeiture of the bond amount and up to one month in jail. Such cases could also have an impact on employment-related passport checks and police verification.
SP stated that 325 people were tied up as part of preventive police measures last year.
Meanwhile, surveillance has been stepped up in Dharmavaram and Bukkarayasamudram mandals using night vision drones.
Special teams monitored suspicious movement, open drinking and other anti-social activities at vulnerable locations. The SP said regular drone-based monitoring has been effective in deterring crime and improving public safety. He appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity to the police.
