Given the obstruction and vandalism, a group of people between Dhuliandang and Nimtita stations in West Bengalia were disturbed in the new part of Farak-Azimganj on the Eastern Railway on Friday, PTI quoted an official.
According to the Eastern Railway official, as PTI quoted, four express trains were diverted by various routes, while two other passenger trains were canceled, quoted blockade for the causes that began at 14:46.
The official press release of Eastern railways said, as Times of India quoted, “it was reported that about 5,000 people gathered and squatted on the railway line between Dhulianganga and Nimtita, which affect the train movement in the section.
The release added that DN Kamakhya – Puri Express services were influenced as a result of obstruction.
“The train services in Azimganj – the new section Farakka on the Eastern railway were hit today (11.4.2025) as a group of people who squat on a railway line that prevents movement from 15644 DN Kamakhya – Puri Express near Dhulianganga from 14.46.
“RPF, GPF and local police are on the site of negotiations with agitators who prevented trains movements on the cause without weir.
Trains canceled:
Meanwhile, the Eastern Railway CPro Diptimoy Dutt reported that the agitators also damaged the gate number 43. He added that two trains were canceled, while five trains were diverted.
Due to the blockade, 13465 Howrah-Malda Town Intercity Express, 13141 Sealdah-NEW Alipurduar Teesta Teesta Express, 15644 Kamakhya-Puri Express and 13432 Balurghat-Nabadwipwip switched via Rampurhat, he said.
