
A man has been arrested for allegedly abusing and murdering a five-year-old boy in Bihar’s Jehanabad. The incident took place in the hostel of a boarding school in Jehanabad, where the accused was working as a canteen guard.
The accused has been identified as Mukesh alias Sudama, 46, NDTV reported. During the investigation, it was found that Mukesh’s wife had left him years ago.
According to the report, the guard was “frustrated” because the kids in the hostel were allegedly taunting him by calling him “impotent”, Superintendent of Police Aprajit Lohan was quoted as saying by NDTV.
The accused allegedly had a dispute with the hostel operator and threatened to defame the hostel and force its closure, police said.
Boy ‘Sexually Abused, Murdered’
The incident happened on Sunday evening. Mukesh allegedly lured the victim to his room and sexually abused her.
Fearing that he might scream and get arrested, Mukesh cut the boy’s throat and dumped his body on the hostel staircase, the report added.
The boy’s father received a call the next morning from the hostel operator, Tarun Kumar, and was informed that his son had been admitted to a private hospital.
At the hospital, he found his son with his throat cut, his genitals cut and cuts on the left side of his abdomen, according to the First Information Report (FIR), according to NDTV.
He is said to have taken his son to a multi-specialty hospital in Patna on the advice of doctors, where he was declared brought dead.
The police have registered a case of rape by authority, gang rape, murder and under the Prevention of Child Sexual Offenses (POCSO) sections.
Tarun Kumar was taken into custody. A teacher and two staff members were also detained but were allowed to leave after questioning, NDTV reported.
According to the report, several crucial leads were obtained during the investigation, based on which Mukesh was also taken into custody, Lohan said.
During questioning, he confessed to his crime and said he was drunk at the time, police added.
The sharp blade used in the murder was recovered by the police and the guard Mukesh alias Sudama (46) was arrested.
