Five policemen were injured, one of them seriously, when their vehicle collided with a van on National Highway 966 at Nattukal near Mannarkkad on Wednesday evening.
Police officers were on election duty. They were returning to Mannarkkad after a special duty at Karinkallathani when the accident occurred near Nattukal post office.
Police said the vehicle that crashed was hired for election duty. The injured were taken to a private hospital in Perinthalmanna.
