The awareness program ‘CET Seat Allotment Manthana 2026’ regarding admissions to professional courses will be held from May 25 to 30 in all government and aided engineering, medical and dental colleges across the state, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) Executive Director H. Prasanna said.
He was speaking at a training workshop ‘Manthana’ held at KEA office in Bengaluru for representatives of state and aided engineering, medical and dental colleges.
Three to four lecturers from each college were invited and received a day-long training session on the seat allocation process. More than 170 lecturers participated in the workshop.
Last year, the workshop was held only in engineering faculties, but this year it will also be held in medical and dental faculties, he explained.
He said there was some confusion last year as the program was organized in a short time frame. However, this year KEA will launch an app through which participants can pre-book dates and time slots, helping to avoid last-minute confusion. Training workshops in colleges will be conducted only for those who have reserved slots.
People will be informed about the possibility of entry, allotment of seats, selection of entry, payment of fee and admission procedures.
Mohammed Mohsin, Additional Principal Secretary, Medical Education Department, who inaugurated the workshop, suggested that colleges should also use the Manthana program to showcase their academic environment to students and parents.
He said colleges should hold an “open house” and allow visitors to view laboratories, libraries, hostels, canteens and other facilities. This would help avoid post-admission complaints about lack of facilities.
