The Central Investigation Office (CBI) arrested the false Center of Technical Support of Amazon in the resort in the Nashik Maharashtra district and arrested five cyber fraudsters based in Mumbai, who allegedly focused on the United States and Canadian citizens.
Five accused CBIs were identified as – Vishal Yadav, Shebaz, Durgesh, ABhay aka Raja and Sameer aka Kalia aka Sohail.
During the CBI operation, it also confiscated 44 laptops and 71 mobile phones.
The cyber criminal network occupied US and Canada citizens in a carefully designed and complicated fraud with a structured hierarchy of 60 operators who were admitted as callers, verification and closing for the illegal call center.
Imposters reportedly committed financial fraud by bringing in phishing calls from the illegal call center, representing Amazon Support Services Call Center from Rain Forest Resort in Igatpuri, Nashik, CBI said.
“The allegedly accused persons have entered the criminal conspiracy with each other and other unknown persons and committed financial fraud by personifying and accepting phishing calls/misleading calls, from an illegal call center that represented Amazon’s Call Center.”
The False Call Center of Amazon, including a Coterie of Six Scammers based in Mumbai, operated in a conspiracy with other unidentified banks and private individuals.
During the raids, the agency found that 62 people were working in a false call center that operates live and was involved in the process of cheating foreigners.
The agency also found stunning irresponsible cash £1.20 crore, 500 gm gold and seven luxury cars worth £1 CRORE Each, except transactions of approximately $ 5,000 in cryptocurrency and gift vouchers worth $ 2,000.
