The department of local governments issued an order that allows local authorities to provide 5% concession in the construction industry for house owners who have mechanisms for the treatment of biodegradable waste at the source installed in their premises. The decision is part of various initiatives to support waste processing at the source.
Concession of buildings taxes will be applicable to those who have any waste treatment for source mechanisms approved by Missitw Mission. These include Vermi, Bio-Pedestal, Moss, Pipes and various other composting mechanisms, kitchen containers, portable biogas and biogas plants. The homeowner must submit an application through Harith Mithram from KSMart, after which Harith Karma hay performs ground checks to find out.
The tax reduction will be applicable for one year. The same can be expanded to the following years based on the state of operation of the waste processing mechanism.
