India and Jordan have signed several memoranda of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas such as renewable energy, water resources, digital transformation and cultural heritage, with Amman expressing its intention to join key global initiatives led by India, including the International Solar Alliance (ISA), during a two-day official visit to the kingdom that began on Monday.
The List of Outcomes issued by the Ministry of External Affairs during Prime Minister Modi’s visit states that the MoU includes technical cooperation in the field of new and renewable energy, cooperation in the management and development of water resources, a twinning agreement between Petra and Ellora, and the renewal of the cultural exchange program for 2025-2029.
There is also a statement of intent to share successful digital solutions implemented at population scale for digital transformation.
The MEA also said that Jordan has expressed its intention to join the International Solar Alliance, the Global Biofuel Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
“These results mark a meaningful expansion of the India-Jordan partnership. Our cooperation in new and renewable energy reflects our shared commitment to clean growth, energy security and climate responsibility,” PM Modi said in a post on X on Tuesday, citing the list of MEA results.
India also announced its support for an Indo-Jordan Center of Excellence set up at the Al Hussein Technical University in Amman, which involves training 10 head coaches over a period of three years.
This happened during Prime Minister Modi’s two-day visit to the Middle Eastern country as part of the first leg of his three-nation visit.
During his meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan. Prime Minister Modi said during his “productive discussion” with the king, he shared an eight-point vision on trade, critical minerals, nuclear cooperation and other vital sectors to strengthen ties with the country.
In a post at X, PM Modi outlined an eight-point vision aimed at further deepening cooperation between the two countries, with a key focus on vital areas of cooperation including business and economicsfertilizers and agriculture, information technology, healthcare, infrastructure, critical and strategic minerals, civil nuclear cooperation and people-to-people ties.

After the talks, King Abdullah II hosted a banquet dinner in honor of the Prime Minister, underscoring the warmth of bilateral relations.
From Jordan, the Prime Minister will travel to Ethiopia at the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, his first official visit to the African nation. In the final phase of the tour, the Prime Minister will visit Oman.
