
45 -year -old Venus Williams opened on Washington with a remarkable return and returned to the competition after a sixteen -month break. On Monday, July 21, Williams joined with his colleague American Hailey Baptiste to defeat Eugenie Bouchard and Clernie Ngounoue 6-3, 6-1 in women’s doubles 16.
He entered the tournament as a surrender coat of arms and last secured the victory at the Cincinnati Open in August 2023 and did not compete from Miami Open in March 2024.
“It was inspiring to be here. I love this game and still hit it,” said Venus Sky Sports.

After the match Venus joked that she wanted her to connect with her sister Serena’s place Baptiste, which is in the world for 50 years.
“I think I have seen from the first point that we were a good team. We just should have started playing earlier, years ago, did I think Serena was in the way,” Venus added.
Venus, who returned to double after three years, had previously won 14 Grand Slam titles in female double along her sister Serena, while Williams nurses dominated sports for many years.
On Tuesday, July 22, Venus will face American Peyton Stearns in the opening round of women’s singles.
It is also ready to compete in the upcoming US Open edition. On Monday, the American Tennis Association (Usta) released a list of 25 teams entered into the reimaginated Mixled Doubles championship from the US Open, scheduled for 19-20. August, just before the start of the main singles tournament.
Among the participants, Venus joined with her colleague American Reilly Opelka, with a few sought to perform the final section for the event of mixed doubles.
