In July, the city has seen an incredible 442 Dengue cases and 69 cases last week. The number of cases of dengue reported in the city recorded a sharp increase in July, when the monsoon rains began to be beating. To date, the city has seen 1,685 cases, of which more than 26% recorded only in July.
The main civic commissioner M. Maleshwar Rao ordered officials to survey in areas that showed a higher number of dengue and accept the campaign to remove mosquitoes in such areas. “It is necessary to participate in a campaign of continuous fogging and spraying pesticides to kill mosquitoes, identify the places of larvae reproduction and solve them,” he said.
BBMP will also soon start a campaign to raise awareness of creating awareness of dengue in the city. Mr. Rao ordered officials to take part in the door to door to door where officials had to visit houses, create awareness of places where mosquitoes behave and how to clean them. He ordered officials to laze in social care associations (RWAS) and volunteers to survey from door to door.
He ordered officials to encourage households to install ovitraps to protect themselves from mosquitoes. OVITRAP is a device that mimics the breeding place for mosquitoes for vessel breeding, including those spreading dengue, but capturing them in water by preventing the spread of the disease.
