Up to 40 Gurukul Residential School (Girls) students complained about vomiting, viral fever and diarrhea in the atmacura in the district of SPSR Nellore. Almost 20 students were sent back to their homes, while more than 20 were accepted in the nearby primary center Heath (PHC) and undergo treatment.
According to the headmaster, the school is close to the dumping court and the health of students could be influenced due to the threat of flying. The sanitation workers cleaned the school space under the supervision of the municipal commissioner. Meanwhile, the health of students admitted to PHC is considered stable.
Minister reacts
Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy organized an emergency meeting of the outbreak of fever at the Gurukul School. He organized a teleconference with a district collector and other officials, including income, police, educational departments and city officials. He ordered them to visit school and take immediate steps.
He also told medical staff to move students suffering from a high fever to the nearest district hospital for immediate treatment and gather details of the spread of viral fever in other schools and hostels. The Minister suggested that officials take proper measures to prevent these incidents from being repeated.
