Four Maoists, including two women carrying a collective reward of 18 lakh, were killed on Friday (May 23, 2025) by security staff in Maharašštře Gadchiroli, the police said.
The meeting took place along the Maharastra-Chhattisgarh border barely 25 km from where 27 Maoists, including Zambal Keshav Rao, aka Basavaraju, Secretary-General of the prohibited CPI (Maoista), killed Gadchirolius two days ago. Mr. Neelotpal, however, added that the killing of the cadres were active in the Mahari and the forces had another Gunbuttle ten days ago.

At the next meeting reported in the Chhattisgarh Sukma district, a Maoist worker was killed by security forces in an anti-nx surgery, the officer said on Friday.
The operation started on Thursday (22 May 2025), when a joint team including staff from the district reserve (DRG), Special Task Force and 210. Cobry (CRPF) battalion (CRPF) left the Kistar Police Station. In the evening, Gunbattle broke, during which one Maoist was killed, the officer said, adding that the fire was still in the area until Friday evening.
Meanwhile, another operation in the clear part of the Sukma, which was started on Wednesday, was removed late on Thursday evening. At this meeting, the commando Cobra and the Maoist worker were killed.
24 Maoists give up
In the related development with 24 Maoists, of which 20 members carrying a reward of 87.50 GBP, handed over before the police in the Chhattisgarh district in Bijapur, Bijapur Superintendent Jitendra Kumar Yadav said. Among those who have given up are the representative of PLGA No. 2, the main military formation in the forbidden clothing, said Mr. Yadav.
“The decline with the ideas of the organization and the disappointment and the growing internal differences in the organization has given up because of the desire to live a safe family life by joining the mainstream of society,” he added.
