4.39 lakh plus one seat available

As many as 4,39,184 seats are available for the Plus One single window this year.

As many as 4,10,456 students became eligible for higher studies.

On Monday, the submission of applications for Plus one began. The deadline for submitting applications is June 3. The trial draw will take place on June 8. The first draw will be published on June 15, the second draw on June 22 and the third draw on June 29.

After completing the three allocations in the main phase on July 1, Plus 1 classes will start on July 2. Last year, the classes started on June 18.

After the main allotment phase, additional allotment applications will be invited again to fill the remaining seats.

The supplementary allocation will take place from July 13 to August 5, which is the closing date for the Plus One admissions process.

Students can take up access to 45 subject combinations across the Science, Commerce and Humanities groups.

As many as 2,220 requests came in on Monday. These applications to government and aided schools have been confirmed online. More than 11,600 candidate logins have been created but not all have done the online confirmation.

Of the total online confirmed applications, 2,098 were from students who had completed SSLC, 98 from CBSE students, 12 from ICSE students and 12 from students from other education boards.

The maximum number of applications received was from Palakkad-313. The least was from Wayanad – 29.

As many as four MRS applications were also confirmed and 885 candidate credentials were created.

The government on Monday issued orders to continue the temporary allowances sanctioned and shifted in previous years and allowing marginal increase in seats at the beginning of the recruitment process itself.

A marginal increase in seats of 30% was allowed in government higher secondary schools and 20% in aided schools in Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. A further 10% can be awarded to aided schools on request.

A 20% marginal increase in seats in government and aided schools will be allowed in Kollam and Thrissur districts.

In Ambalapuzha and Cherthala taluks of Alappuzha district, a marginal increase of 20% seats in government and aided higher secondary schools was allowed, while in Ernakulam, the same increase was allowed in all government and aided schools in five taluks except Kothamangalam and Muvattupuzha.

Of the temporary additional batches sanctioned in 2021, 2023 and 2024, all but one of the 313 batches that continued in the academic year 2025-26 will continue this year.

It was learned that the 38 lots that were shifted will also continue.

Accordingly, there are 1,92,181 Plus One seats in government schools; 1,92,159 seats in aided schools; 49,800 in unaided school; 946 places in special schools; 1,568 places in model dormitories; and 2,530 in technical schools.

In Malappuram, the total seats are 77,865. As many as 79,083 students have become eligible for higher studies in the district. There are 35,352 seats available in Palakkad (38,164 students got SSLC) while 42,892 seats are available in Kozhikode (42,770 students got SSLC).
