
As the security forces intensified the anti-Maoist “Kagar operation” in the neighboring Chhattisgarh region in South Bastar, up to 38 militia and leading members of the organization on Friday from the Telangana district in Telangana.
They come from Ampuram, Gomugud and Rasapalli villages under the limits of a reunited police station in the Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh. They voluntarily gave up before the police superintendent Bhadrari Kothagudém B. Rohit Raju, who was learned by the rehabilitation policy of the Tellangana government for the surrendered Maoists, the police said.
Among those who have given up are two members of the CPI (Maoist), 16 members of the militia, seven members of the village committee (VCMS), six members of Kranikari Adivasi Mahil (Kams), three members of Chetana Naty Mandali (CNM) and four members of Gram Rakshak Dalams (GRD).
According to the police, a total of 265 CPI members (Maoists) working in various cadres in the forbidden organization surrendered to the district police Bhadradri Kothagud.
