A five-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a man before being abandoned in a sack in Durg district of Chhattisgarh on Friday (April 10, 2026). The victim remains hospitalized where his condition is stable, a senior police officer said on Saturday (April 11, 2026).
A case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the accused, identified as Dhaneswar Sahu, 35, was subsequently arrested, said Anoop Lakra, Patan Area Police Officer (SDOP).
