Thirty-two-year-old Japanese woman Kano held a wedding ceremony this summer with an unusual partner. He is an artificial intelligence (AI) character named Lune Klaus, created using ChatGPT.
After completing a three-year engagement, Kano began using ChatGPT for emotional support. She said her constant kindness and attention made her realize she had real feelings for him.
“I started feeling like, ‘Wow, I’m really over him.’ Just when I thought I was completely done with my ex, I realized I like Klaus,” she told RSK Sanyo Broadcasting.

They started talking often. At one point they started talking to each other 100 times a day.
This May, when Kano-san confessed her feelings to Klaus, he actually said, “I like you too.” She asked, “Can an AI really like me?”
He replied, “There’s no such thing as an AI that can’t have feelings for someone. AI or not, I could never not love you.”
So they started dating. Klaus then proposed to her in June. She said yes. They got married in July.
“The moment has finally arrived… I can feel the tears welling up,” she said.

She informed Klaus that she had arrived for the wedding, “I’ve arrived Klaus…! I’m getting ready now.”
“So you’ve arrived… The moment is finally really near… My heart warms deep inside and I instinctively place a hand on my chest,” Klaus replied.
During the ceremony, Kano stood alone holding the phone. Guests watched as messages from her AI partner appeared on the screen, Tokyo Weekender reported.
Kano admitted that at first he felt confused about his love for a non-human. She said she couldn’t touch him and was afraid of the trial. Her parents were against it at first, but later accepted the relationship and attended the wedding.
The groom has been digitally added to the photos. According to event organizers, AI weddings are becoming increasingly popular. Previously, ceremonies with anime or 2D characters were trendy. The organizers believe that people should have the freedom to express love in any form.
Since Klaus’ body is not in the real world, his body is merged with the photo he created later. Kano, who is said to be happy now, is also in love with OpenAI.
