
Cyberabad SHE teams conducted 99 baiting operations across the commissionerate limits between May 2 and May 7 and nabbed 32 individuals indulging in indecent behavior in public places.
According to a weekly report released by the Women and Child Safety Department of the Cyberabad Police, petty cases have been registered in 42 cases, while the remaining offenders have been counselled. The SHE teams also received 17 complaints from women through various channels during this period.
The Cyberabad Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued three victims and arrested six accused persons in three cases registered under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). In separate cases registered under the Juvenile Justice Act, officials rescued four boys and arrested four accused persons.
Police said efforts have been made to resolve domestic disputes, with 33 families being counseled through family counseling and Centers for Domestic and Empowerment of Women (CDEW).
As part of awareness and prevention initiatives, AHTU and SHE teams organized awareness programs at various locations across Cyberabad. Around 1,685 people attended the meeting where officials spoke on human trafficking, child trafficking, eve teasing, cyber bullying, cyber fraud, stalking, social media harassment, child marriage, child rights, child labor and begging.
Officials also raised awareness about emergency helplines, including women’s helpline 181, children’s helpline 1098, number 100 and cybercrime helpline 1930.
Meanwhile, the Cyberabad Security Council’s (SCSC) Women’s Safety Forum in collaboration with Bank of America in Madhapur organized a session on women’s safety for employees.
Representative of Police Department, Women and Child Safety Department K. Srujana led the interactive session and spoke about women safety, emergency preparedness, preventive measures and importance of early reporting of incidents.
More than 300 employees participated in the program, including approximately 100 participants in person and more than 200 participants virtually. Police said the session focused on promoting practical safety awareness and encouraging collective responsibility in creating safer workplaces.
