Almost 13 years after playing his last international struggle for India, Spinner with Piyush Chawl’s foot called time out of all forms of cricket for his career. Chawla is the winner of the Indian Premier League, known for its exceptional Googlery, and the third highest goal of the tournament.
Despite the short Indian career, Chawl won two international trophies with the party, World Cups 2007 and 2011.
PIYUSH Chawly statement
After more than two decades in the field, it was time to offer Adieu for a beautiful game.
From the representation of India at the highest level to part of the winning World Cup T20 2007 and the ODI team of the World Cup in 2011, every moment of this incredible journey was nothing a blessing. These memories will remain etched forever in my heart.
I sincerely thank the IPL franchise, which they trust me – Kings Panjab, Kalkata Knight, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. The Indian Premier League was a really special chapter in my career and I appreciated it at any moment.
I owe my deepest gratitude to my coaches – Shri Kk Gautam and late Shri Pankaj Saraswat – for bringing me up and shaping me in the cricket I had happened.
For my family, my eternal pillar of strength: Your unwavering support was my foundation in all heights and minimals. A special mention of my deceased father, whose faith illuminated the way I went. Without it, this journey would never be possible.
Thank you also BCCI, UPCA (Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association) and GCA (Gujarat Cricket Association) for giving me the platform and opportunities to evolve and comment as cricket.
Today is a deeply emotional day for me, because I officially announce my retirement from all forms of international and domestic cricket.
Even if I resign from the fold, cricket will always live in me. Now I look forward to getting on a new way, carrying the spirit and lessons of this beautiful game with me.
