At least 2,900 people were rescued from different districts of Madhya Pradesh and moved to relief camps, said Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday (July 30, 2025), because constant rains have been creating a flood situation in many parts of the state in the last three days.
Mr. Yadav, who organized a high -level meeting to examine the auxiliary work in the areas affected by the rain, that the state government was looking for helicopters of the Ministry of Defense to speed up efforts and that one Lucknow helicopter is currently deployed in the ASOKNAGAR district.
“About 2,900 people, including Morena, Guna, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Rewa, Damoh, Raisen, Sagar and Vidisha, have been rescued from different districts, and moved to relief camps. Food, clothing, medicines and other essentials are provided in camps,” he said with reporters.
In Gun and Shivpuri in Chambal, the army and the national strength of the reaction to disasters (NDRF) were called to help with rescue efforts.
Meanwhile, two family members, including minors, died in Gwalior after part of their specific house collapsed on Tuesday evening, the district administration said. The deceased were identified as Ritesh (35) and Radha (17).
The main minister also ordered all district administrations and authorities concerned to remain in high readiness due to the forecast of heavy rains in the next two days in several districts, the government statement said.
“Mr. Yadav Urged Citizens To Remain Extremely Alert and Cautious Until Rains Subside. He Encouraged People to Help Rescue Flood-Affected Individuals. He Advised Citizens to Avoid Entering Flooded Rivers and Streams Currents. individuals, ”the statement read.
The main minister also stated that the flood victims would compensate for any damage to their real estate, crops, livestock and other things. He ordered the district collectors to conduct surveys of damage assessment and prepare proposals for remuneration after the water retreats.
