The Bapatla District Administration has established 27 rehabilitation centers to provide shelter and support to families affected by growing flood waters in the Krishna River. The district collector V. Vinod Kumar said that all departments were in high readiness to ensure the safety of people in low -lying villages.
A total of 5,783 families were identified for relocation, consisting of 14 391 people out of 27 dwellings. With 188 rooms prepared, accommodation was organized for up to 19,920 people. Collector together with Real RDO N. Rajyalakshmi, DM & Ho Dr. Vijayamma and DPO Prabhakar Rao on Monday on Monday inspected facilities at government schools in Penumudi, Bobbarlanka, Piratlanka and Lankvanidibba of the village.
The Kumar, which interacts with the inhabitants, assured them that the officials would remain on the middle of the Wednesday to deal with their needs. He ordered medical staff to ensure the availability of medicines and services, while hygienic teams were instructed to maintain hygiene in centers.
Previously, the collector reviewed the flood situation on the Penumudi and the controlled ships were ready for emergency operations. He recommended families to stay in rehabilitation centers until the water levels escape.
