The number of public sector undertakings (PSUs) operating at a profit under the Industries department has increased to 27, according to data presented at the half-yearly review of PSUs held this week in the presence of Industries Minister P. Rajeeve. Compared to the same period last year, 14 new PSUs became profitable, 7 PSUs increased profit. Total turnover increased by 9.07% with 32 PSUs increasing turnover. There was also an increase in operating profit by ₹82.09 crore to ₹2,440.14 crore, according to a press release by the Industries department on Sunday.
