At least 26 workers, including seven women, from Avanti Frozen Foods Private Limited Unit, were admitted to a hospital with various symptoms, reportedly because of food poisoning in the village of Peddanapalli in the Kakinada district. Workers reported diseases, including vomiting, from Saturday. Almost a thousand workers work in a unit of shrimp processing.
The health and medical officer of the Kakinada district Narasimha Naik told the Hindes: “At least 26 workers became ill after lunch in the 12th of April. April. Food poisoning is suspected.
Dr. Narasimha Naik added that the common inspection of the unit for processing and shrimp and the investigation was completed to identify accurate reasons for the disease. Food safety authorities also investigate the incident.
