About 250 delegates, including some foreigners, were attended by 4 international conference on friction processes (ICFP 2025) in Tirupati. The conference will provide a platform for young scientists through presentations of posters with prices for the best records.
The three-day event is organized by the International Association for Material and Product Production (IA-PMFP) in cooperation with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati, IIT Patna, IIT Dharwad and the Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bengalur.
The inaugurate event, chairman and CEO of Midhani, Hyderabad, SVA Narayan Murtha, stressed that discussions about the emerging challenges in friction -based processes would inspire young researchers to join the field in the next two decades.
He emphasized the growing need for metallurgists and machine engineers in India for the development of processing techniques based on advanced friction. He also released a souvenir on ICFP.
IISC Bengaluru Professor Satish V. Kailas, Iit Madras Dean Arun Tangiral, President IA-PMFP TS Srivatsan spoke about the latest progress in friction-based production and intelligent and additive production.
The conference Iit Tirupati Ajay Kumar said, “It’s a proud moment for Tirupati. Hosting ICFP not only shows top research, but also emphasizes the role of the city in developing scientific innovation.”
