A total of 23 Gram Panchayats in Andhra Pradesh have achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for providing quality civic services and effective governance.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development K. Pawan Kalyan said the international certification is a testament to good governance in the villages and expressed hope that these 23 GPs will serve as an inspiration to more than 13,000 GPs to raise standards of service and governance.
He noted that effective implementation of civil records and complaint handling systems, provision of drinking water facilities, accessible infrastructure for persons with disabilities, display of information boards, digitization of records, scientific processing of documents and conducting internal audits and regular inspections enabled GPs to obtain ISO certification.
These practitioners have set a global benchmark for people-centric, transparent and accountable good governance at the village level, he added.
