A sea of people thronged the Nampally exhibition grounds on Sunday as the All India Industrial Exhibition 2026, popularly known as Numaish, drew to a close. From parents pushing babies in prams to families accompanying older members in wheelchairs, the final day reflected the wide range of visitors the exhibition attracts year after year.
According to the Exhibition Society, this year’s attendance reached a new high. “The total number of visitors this year reached about 22.5 million, surpassing the previous year’s figure of 20.7 million,” said BN Rajeshwar, secretary, Exhibition Society. The extent of the crowd was evident even half a kilometer from the venue, with traffic jams piling up far ahead of Nampally.
“Since it is Sunday and the last day of Numaish, I thought I would bring my family here and spend some time together,” said Kiran Reddy, who came with his wife and two children.

For many Hyderabadis, visiting on the last day is an annual ritual. “We come here every year on the last day. Yes, it’s extremely crowded, but that’s how Numaish feels,” said Seema, a teacher from Malakpet.
Shopping may not have been on everyone’s agenda, but the air was saturated with the aroma of kebabs, roasted corn and jalebis, forming long queues at food stalls across the campus.
Traders said the onslaught had intensified over the past two days. “There is a mix of customers. Some come looking for discounts, while others feel that these prices will not be available later and buy without haggling,” said Farhan, who runs a cashmere clothing stall.
