At least 21 airports throughout India, especially in the northern and northwestern regions, were closed for passengers for passengers until May 10 after the government directive in the middle of Indian military strikes near the border with Pakistan.
These airports will remain closed until 5.29 in the morning on May 10, according to the announcement for airmen (notam) issued by airlines accessible by Hindu through sources at the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The airports cover the Union of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the lights and the states Pandjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. This resulted in a large amount of cancellation of flight from Indian airlines operating domestic routes. Some international flights were also affected because airlines, including flights from the US, could not use Pakistani air space to enter India.
These include the airports in Jammu and Srinagar in J&K and SLE; Amritsar, Chandigarh, Patiala, Halwara Airport in Pandjab; Shimla and Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh; Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Kishangarh in Rajasthan; and Bhuj, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Mundra, Porble, Kandla, Keshod and Bhuj in Gujarat, according to the notram issued by the Indian Airport Office. Many of these airports are used by airlines and Indian Air Force.
Indigo canceled more than 165 flights at 11 airports by 5.29 to 10 May, according to its press release.
Air India confirmed the cancellation of flight at nine airports in the X post at the same time frame.
Air India Express also stopped flights from Amritsar, Gwalior, Jammu, Srinagar and Hindon.
Spicejet canceled the flight to AZ Lem, Srinagar, Jammu, Dharamshala, Kandla and Amritsar.
Akasa Air said it canceled all its flights to and from Srinagar to 9 May.

Notam came into force early in the morning on Wednesday (May 7, 2025), when the website of flight tracking, such as Flightradar24, showed no commercial flights operating in the Indian airspace north of Nový Delhi that excluded Dehradun.
Airlines reported passengers through social media about possible delay and cancellations and urged them to check the states of flight and plan appropriately. All affected airlines offer free of charge or full compensation for canceled flights.

While American carriers Americans and United canceled their Tuesday (May 6, 2025) departure to Delhi, other aircraft from West Asia and Europe, which were already as a result of tension in the region, diverted to India.
“Given the evolving situation in South Asia and the resulting limitation of the Airspace, United today canceled our flight to a new Delh. We will continue to monitor the situation and decide on the coming years as soon as more information is available,” United said in a statement.
