Scheduled Caste (SC) Women, Scheduled Caste and Women reservation wards in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation have been completed during the preparations for the 2025 local body elections in the state.
Kattayikonam, Pangappara, Attukal, Alathara and Kulathur are reserved SC Women wards and Kachani, Peroorkada, Arannur and Cheruvaickal, SC wards. On Friday, the lottery for the selection of reservation departments took place here.
Following are the female reservation wards in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation: Chenthavila, Chenkottokonam, Chempazhanthy, Kariavattam, Sreekaryam, Ambalamukku, Kudapanakkunnu, Nettayam, Kuravankonam, Nalanchira, Edavakkode, Medical College, Pattom, Kesavada Gowreesapattam, Palayam, Vazhuthacaud, Sasthamangalam, Thirumala, Poojappura, Valiyasala, Ponnumangalam, Nedungad, Kalady, Karumam, Punchakkari, Venganoor, Harbour, Vellar, Poonthura, Puthenpalli, Ambalathara, Be Kalipally Valiyathura, Vallakadavu, Sreevaraham, Manacaud, Perunthanni, Sreekanteswaram, Vettucaud, Karikkakom, Kadakampally, Anamugham, Akkulam and Pallithura.
The allotment of reservation wards is an important measure ahead of the 2025 local body polls. The State Election Commission has issued notification for drawing lots in grama panchayats, municipalities and municipal corporations in the state.
The draw at Swaraj Bhavan was supervised by Sooraj Shaji, Director (Urban), Local Government Department.
