Three police officers were sent to prison in connection with the murder of BJP Abhijit Sarkar in the case of violence in 2021 in West Bengal. This comes almost four years after the incident, when a BJP worker was killed.
After the elections to the Assembly of 2021, there were reports of riots in many parts of the state. During such an incident, a BJP worker was killed in Kakurgachi.

TMC MLA PARESH PAL from the Beliaghata, Swapan Samaddar, Councilor (Ward 58) and Papiya Ghosh, councilors (Ward 30) are named in accusation.
Three TMC leaders also moved Calcutta High Court this week to look for a pre -bail. The Court of Justice received a predictor bail.
A total of 18 people were named in the additional accusation, 15 of them appeared in court and were looking for bail. Eleven out of 15 people were to expect that three police officers and one accompliced Mr. Dream, Sujat Dey was in prison in July 31.
The special judge of CBI in Bichar Bhawan in Calcutta also raised questions about the police and refused their request for bail and asked them to give up.
Biswayit Sarkar, the brother of the deceased Abhijit Sarkar, said that the police were not considered responsible, but rather received promotions. “They were directly related to the murder,” Biswajit said, and on Friday, July 18, 2025) he faced the court of the city meetings.
Three weeks ago, the main defendant was also arrested by CBI officials.
The leader of the opposition and BJP MLA Suvenda Adhikari welcomed the judgment of the court. In a post on the social media, he wrote: “The judge noted,” What happens to the company if the protector becomes a predator? ” Mr. Adhikari also said that the party is determined to give justice for the deceased Mr. Sarkar and his family.
When supplementary fees were submitted, TMC spokesman and former deputy Rajya Sabha Kunal Ghosh said it was a politically motivated indictment. “Just before the elections at the assembly of 2026, CBI submitted under pressure,” Mr. Ghosh accused.
