Minister for Forests, Environment and Environment Eshwar B. Khandre on Friday directed officials to remove all forest encroachments after 2015, noting that more than 2,000 acres of forest land in Mandya district remains illegally occupied.
Presiding over a review meeting with district forest officials at Maddur in Mandya district, Mr. Khandre emphasized that increasing green cover and protecting existing trees are essential to tackle global warming.
