In the shocking incident, 20 monkeys filled in bags were found in the bags and released along the Kandegala-Kodesoge on Wednesday in the Bandipur bumper zone Tiger Reserve near Gundlupet.

The preliminary findings indicated that the monkeys were killed elsewhere and their carcasses were transported and thrown away to prevent detection. Two monkeys were found on the scene. They were moved to the veterinary hospital in Gundlupet, the statement said.
