The Chants referelona returned in the La League after Barcelona played one of the most bizarre opening games in recent memory. Back as a champion champion, Barcelona may have expected a festive start, but instead on Saturday 16th August found themselves in the center of furiousness in the son Estadi Mallorca Molix.
The tension from the home fans was understandable after Var refused to review the accumulation of the Raphinha’s introductory goal in the 7th minute. “I always tell my players not to stop until the referee throws the last whistle. He’s a referee who has to decide,” Flick said.
The red card mayhem
Soon afterwards it was cooked. Midfielder Mana Morlanes, already on the yellow for dissent, was sent in the 33rd minute after a foul on Yamal. Six minutes later, Mallorc’s suffering was deepened when the attacker to lead Muriqi received a straight red card for a high challenge for Joan Garcia – the referee after the VAR review upgraded his initial yellow.
