
Two men died of an electric power plant, while several others suffered injuries as a truck bearing the goddess Durga Idol for immersion came into contact with the high -cost electric line in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur City, the officials said on Monday (October 6, 2025).
The incident occurred late on Sunday evening, when the electricity in the Gaura bazaar area in the Gaura bazaar area came into contact with the truck tube, resulting in the spread of the current, another superintendent of Anjan Tiwari, said PTI.
Two people were killed in the incident and 10 to 15 were injured due to electric currents, according to initial reports, asp.
However, the duty of government Victoria Hospital Nitin Yadav told the video that a total of 35 people were brought to the hospital. Two of them died, while 33 others were admitted to various departments, including ICU, for treatment, he said.
The condition of the injured people was stable, he added.
Idol, installed at the Navratri festival in Temar Bhita under the Gaura Bazaar police station, was transported for immersion on Sunday evening. The truck bearing an idol was equipped with iron poles for decoration.
Along the way, the Iron Poles came into contact with an electrical line of 11,000 kV, resulting in electricity.
The deceased were identified as Vishwakarma (38) and Akhilesh Patel (48), both of whom were on the truck, the official said.
The police registered the case and further examines the matter.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Minister of the Ministry of Public Works of Rrakesh Singh, the local MLA Ashok Rohani, the district collector Raghvendra Singh and the superintendent of the police Sampay Upephyay got to the hospital and evaluated the situation.
