
Up to 2,765 liters of the illicit spirit was taken over from a slight truck in Kodakar on Saturday by a special police team led by the police chief of Thrissur Rural district B. Krishnakumar. The contraband was hidden under the load of vegetables.
The vehicle controlled by Suuraj, 33, from Kainakary, Alappuzha, was captured near the pernabra underpass on the national highway at the limits of the Kodakara police station. Police, which worked on Tip-off about possible extensive illegal production and distribution of liqueurs before Onam.
